This position is no longer an active posting on HigherEdJobsJob Description: Provides leadership for activities that support fundraising and private gift support and development efforts. Responsibilities include: major gift prospecting, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship; campaign development and management; planned giving oversight; and coordination of cultivation and solicitation efforts among the school's many departments, divisions, and units.

REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree and five years of professional fundraising experience.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, to understand and respect confidentiality, and to work comfortably within an academic environment that possesses many competing interests, priorities, and opinions. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn Indiana University and Indiana University Foundation applications. Experience with and knowledge of fundraising techniques; knowledge of educational fundraising methods and principles; ability to demonstrate skills in major and planned gift solicitation; and experience with major gift prospect management systems.
Outstanding interpersonal, community, foundation, and corporate relations skills and the ability to communicate and work effectively within a diverse community. High energy and ability to focus on constituency relations with donors. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects concurrently. Understanding and commitment to Indiana University and the School of Public Health-Bloomington.
Preferred: Supervisory/management experience and proven success in major gift development.
