This position is no longer an active posting on HigherEdJobsJob Summary: Contributes to the leadership, direction, and evaluation of programs offered through the Office of First Year Experience Programs (FYE), with a focus on the development, implementation, and evaluation of orientation and Welcome Week programs for new freshman and transfer students and their families. Provides oversight of specific programs and events focused on adventure orientation, community service, and leadership. Oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of retention programs and events designed to foster academic success of first year students. Writes, edits, and designs print and electronic communications/presentations; allocates and determines budgets for specific programs; and recruits, trains, and supervises graduate and undergraduate staff. Recruits and orients faculty and staff volunteers who participate in the delivery of programs. Represents Indiana University in a variety of forums locally, regionally, and on a national level.

REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree and three to five years of full-time administrator experience with a significant focus in developing and implementing programs in a higher education setting.
Organizational, group facilitation, teaching, presentation, and promotional/marketing skills; solid skills in Microsoft applications; and ability to exercise sound judgment without supervision and to provide direction to others. Excellent communication (written and verbal), relationship building skills, and confident and personable presentation skills in a variety of settings. Ability to strategize solutions and solve problems when planning and programming.
Preferred: Master's degree with emphasis in higher education or student affairs and experience specific to First Year Experience programs. Experience using social media as a training, communication, and team-building tool. Knowledge of CAS standards and experience with a variety of evaluation tools and techniques.
