This position is no longer an active posting on HigherEdJobsTo provide career services to University of Miami alumni that supports the mission of the Toppel Career Center. Position works closely with the Director of Career Programs at the Office of Alumni Relations. Assist the Director of Career Development and/or Executive Director of Toppel by performing specific duties in the alumni area. Work independently toward carrying out departmental objectives utilizing the knowledge and application of departmental and University policies and procedures. Expect to evaluate current procedures and practices. Will direct and coordinate the activities of other employees usually performing exempt and nonexempt tasks.
Manage all programs, workshops, and individual and group advising for alumni (excluding MBA, Law and Medicine). Assess needs of alumni, and develop and implement comprehensive career services programs based on findings;
Work closely with Alumni Relations to expand participation in major events and programs for targeting students and alumni;
Work closely with the Alumni Relations staff to plan career-related events such as networking and student/alumni engagement events taking place locally, nationally, and virtually;
Create and deliver programs and resources targeting specific alumni populations (i.e., new alumni programs for recent graduates and career transitions programs for older graduates);
Manage, implement, and monitor program budget for alumni programs and events;
Provide one on one and small group career advising for alumni;
Provide advising to undergraduate students within assigned school/college;
Conduct mock interviews with students and alumni;
Provide one on one assessment results review sessions with students and alumni;
Assess new alumni job interests and qualifications; refer them to available career opportunities; assist them with preparation for the interview process;
Collaborate with Alumni Relations to provide networking opportunities for students and alumni;
Provide opportunities for alumni to network with employers, including monthly networking sessions and company events;
Develop collaborative relationships with Academic and Non-Academic departments within the University with the goal of improving career opportunities and resources for students and alumni;
Provide outreach to faculty, students, and alumni through presentations and classroom outreach;
Develop marketing strategies for alumni programming efforts;
Manage alumni database to coordinate guest speakers for student career development programs and alumni workshops;
Co-coordinate career programs with Career Development staff for undergraduate students;
Assist in the department's student/alumni assessment measures, including needs assessments, program evaluations and satisfaction surveys;
Participate in ongoing meetings with Director of Career Programs, Alumni Relations to facilitate communication and coordinate efforts;
Provide assessment and outcome information to Director of Career Development on a monthly basis;
Serve as a liaison to an assigned Academic School/College;
Perform other duties as assigned
