Bachelor's Degree in a relevant science, preferably Psychology. Prior research experience is an asset, as is prior experience working with people with schizophrenia in a treatment setting. Computer skills and statistical knowledge a plus. Occasional evening hours, as necessary, to complete client follow-up visits. Must have a valid driver's license. Possesses own vehicle or alternative means of transportation from one site to another.
Under the direction of the Director, Research, the Temporary Research Assistant will function as a team member on a research study examining the subjective experience of cognitive impairment in schizophrenia. Specifically, the TRA will interview patients about their experiences of having a variety of cognitive challenges, and how this affects their self-esteem and their ability to function. After a preliminary set of qualitative data are collected, the most promising items will be set up as a scale, which the TRA will then validate by administering it to patients, along with other scales.
