The Research Assistant will help with the overall fluidity of an experimental research study within CORE. Primary Responsibilities will be to participate in recruiting, screening, and scheduling potential participants. The recruitment efforts will include, but are not limited to, recruiting in the community, hanging flyers, and making phone calls. In addition, the Research assistant will assist with informed consent and administering various questionnaires to participants, creating advertising materials to distribute during recruitment, measuring height and weight of the child participants, preparation of a first course meal and second course entrée, as well as basic data entry. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in field related to social sciences and at least six months of directly related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:
  • May require some evening work.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and program participants.
  • Must be able to operate all standard office equipment and software including MS office.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse population of research subjects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Qualitative research experience.
  • Experience working with low-income families.
  • This is a Part-Time Grant-Funded Position.
