This position is no longer an active posting on HigherEdJobsThe Assistant Registrar for Online Services and Technology position is primarily responsible for the management, analysis, and reporting of college-wide data. As part of the position, the job requires the fulfillment of data and reporting requests for faculty, staff, departments, and schools in the College. In addition, the position handles all data requests from administrative offices, including the Provost and President of the College. The position also works with Institutional Research and other departments to develop and complete reports and surveys for outside organizations and agencies, including IPEDS, NEASC, and U.S. News & World Report, as part of the role, and to ensure accuracy in reporting and understanding of Simmons College technology, the position requires active engagement and a close working relationship with the college's Technology Department. Finally, the position entails working with students and faculty members in person, via email, and on the phone to help with registration and other issues.
1. Run, create, and troubleshoot reports and data requests for staff members, faculty, students, departments, schools, and college administrators. Monitor and respond to these requests through personal emails as well as email@example.com. Analyze data for accuracy and to ensure that it is meeting the requirements of the requestor. The completion of these tasks needs to be completed through a variety of methods, including Datatel Colleague, Report Builder, and Informer reporting tools. Data creation and analysis for outside organizations, such as IPEDS, is also required. This work is done in conjunction with Institutional Research and should accurately reflect the information gathered and disseminated college-wide.
2. Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, alumnae, and guests when they engage the Registrar's Office in person, via email, or over the phone. Promote a friendly student-centered atmosphere and an inviting academic environment, having an in-depth understanding of college policies and procedures. This includes the establishment of online registration rules, restrictions, and priorities through the Datatel Colleague interface. Troubleshoot and fix problems and errors with the online system (AARC) by working closely with the Simmons College Technology department to ensure that registration and other related processes are working correctly.
3. Help to implement college-wide changes and reorganizations, including the introduction of new programs. Work with other departments to ensure that new systems are put in place, and old systems are updated, to support these changes and the faculty, staff, and students affected by them. Attend meetings and offer consultation on changes through assessment of processes and procedures, keeping in mind the student-focused agenda of the Registrar's Office.
4. Assist Registrar's Office team members in the completion of a variety of tasks during busy times or on particular occasions. This includes processing transcript requests during heavy request periods, working major Simmons events such as convocation, commencement, and new student registration. Additional duties will arise as needed.
